Are You Ready to Break the Vicious Circle?

It is getting harder and harder to catch up with rapidly changing technology.

Force majeure such as Covid-19 and global wars, which are exceptional circumstances, made it very difficult for the supply chain to access the latest technology physical products. When the worldwide inflation is added to these, it is inevitable that the price tendency will continue to up for technological products such as smart phones, computers, cars etc.

It is a fact that software products are exempt from the constraints in the supply chain, but inflation is also a phenomenon that affects them. For this reason, it is very important for companies to create a budget by taking into account the inflation in the countries where they will purchase software products while determining their budgets.

In fact, there are many factors to consider when purchasing this type of software for your company. The first questions that come to mind are: Do we really need this type of software product? Who and / or how many people will actively use this product in the company? Do we have a dedicated budget for this type of product? How soon will we get such a return on investment (ROI)?

While calculating the dedicated budget for software products, in addition to factors such as inflation, one of the most important issue is to consider the share to be allocated for training and application consultancy services.

Such that, when a system (especially software) will be installed, it is useful to adjust your budget by about 1-1.

For example, if you have a budget of 100 units, you should not spend all of them on software licenses, it will be beneficial to allocate 50 units to licenses and the remaining 50 units to services such as training, application consultancy and support. Otherwise, the money you invest in the license will be wasted and inefficiency will occur.

After all, nowadays most licenses are leased annually, so every month that you cannot use them efficiently, money flies away. The more accurately, early and efficiently you learn to use the products, the more effectively you will use the license fee and the faster you will earn ROI.

However unfortunately, there is a vicious circle that companies fall into in these situations. Companies generally do not think of receiving training and application consultancy services before the product becomes widespread, but without these services, the product does not become widespread for the company anyway. Due to this vicious circle, new software products, which cannot find a place for themselves within the company, will find a place among the idle software pool of the company!

As a result, it is so much easier for companies that can break this vicious circle in order to take full advantage of the new software products. Are you ready to break the vicious circle for your company? If you are not, it's time to stop and think again about your purchasing and learning strategy.
